Vibhuti Narayan Mishra was not jobless at the beginning of the series, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. He was an insurance agent who could hardly sell any policy, but I do not know how he lost that job. Anita encourages him to get a job in some cases and discourages him in others.

Factors contributing to Vibhuti’s joblessness are his own laziness, addiction to comfort, wrong deeds, Anita’s selfishness, and wicked plans made by her and Tiwari. He wants to inherit his uncle’s property, but some mishap occurs every time, and his wish remains unfulfilled.

The Reason Behind Vibhuti Narayan Mishra’s Joblessness

Several reasons contribute to the joblessness of Vibhuti Narayan Mishra. His wife, Anita, used to hunt for job opportunities in newspapers and through personal contacts. However, Vibhuti used to reject job opportunities straight away after learning the position and salary.

For instance, Anita’s friend, Minal, informed her about a vacancy for an Assistant Manager with a decent salary in a big firm. However, Vibhuti rejected it because he knew he would have to work under the General Manager, Anurag (Minal’s husband).

Then, what position does Vibhuti want? He claims to be the Chapra University topper, and his name is written on the wall of shame fame. Thus, he directly wants to be a CEO, Director, President, or Vice President of an MNC without climbing up the ladder of success. Obviously, who will hire someone at such a higher position with negligible work experience?

Vibhuti Tried His Luck

Vibhuti borrowed lakhs of rupees from his relatives to pursue his higher education and business, but Anita always used it for her grooming classes. Besides that, he got hired multiple times for multiple positions but always landed in trouble, returning to unemployment.

For instance, he was once hired as an astronaut, though he gave wrong answers during the interview because the scientist wanted a useless person whose absence from the Earth would not affect anyone.

Vibhuti got the junior position and remained busy washing utensils and doing other small tasks after going to the moon. Surprisingly, the scientists took him to the moon but forgot to bring him to the Earth. Bangladesh’s astronauts found him and brought him back when they were on their own mission.

Once, Anita faked her pregnancy to awaken the sense of responsibility in Vibhuti, but he turned into a robber. The second time, he unknowingly got a criminal arrested, and the commissioner made him an inspector, but he used his power against Tiwari instead of performing his duties.

Vibhuti opened a fruit juice stall near his house, but Tiwari mixed something in his juices, which affected people’s digestion. Tiwari did it because Anita did not like her husband doing such a small job. Thus, Vibhuti’s stall was closed.

Vibhuti and Anita opened an English school at their house to teach the residents of the Modern Colony. However, the people created a mess, and Mishra’s school did not get the grant. Thus, this business failed too.

Vibhuti secretly became a female bar dancer, ‘Masakali,’ to financially contribute to his house. However, Tiwari caught him red-handed and brought it before the world. Finally, Anita brought him out of all the mess.

Vibhuti began streaming his daily life content on a video-sharing app but went too far by invading people’s privacy for more content. He filmed a bathing Tiwari and his uncle sharing his personal problems. Moreover, he unknowingly live-streamed his personal moments with Anita. Thus, Vibhuti was arrested for invading people’s privacy and released after some time.

How can we forget the concept of the series? Vibhuti took some odd jobs to impress and spend time with Angoori. For instance, he became a ragman and claimed to be his twin brother, ‘Darling.’ He purchased expensive items such as a laptop, TV, and sofa at cheaper rates from dumb Angoori and insisted she call him ‘Darling.’

Vibhuti pretended to be an undercover agent to impress Angoori but got insulted before her after getting caught by a real undercover agent. He became Angoori’s English tutor, but little did he know how hard it would be to teach her.

Angoori would call Vibhuti at night to clarify her doubts in English and end up learning nothing. Frustrated, Vibhuti hid in a pipe, but Inspector Happu forcefully brought him back. Finally, he wrote Angoori a speech in English, and she created humor by uttering the wrong words while delivering it.
